Valentine’s Day Champagne Stroll

16-Feb-2019

Discover animal mating facts as you explore the Zoo on February 16 & 17!*

Birds do it, bees do it and apparently every couple (and sometimes procreating single individuals) in the animal kingdom does as well. For a different twist on the science of animal mating behaviors, San Francisco Zoo and Gardens presents a special Valentine’s Day Champagne Stroll, where couples can pony up to The Love Potion Bar for mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, then follow along on a self-guided tour with their significant “otter” to various animal habitats to catch up on fascinating animal mating facts. Engaging animal mating behavior facts can be found on brightly-colored, heart-shaped illustrated signs located around the Zoo Guests can glean information on such animals as ostriches, whose elaborate courtship dance is a sight to behold; African lions who engage in marathon days of mating and the massive nesting groups of Magellanic penguin couples. All Keeper Talks for the weekend will have a Valentine's Day mating twist, with additional special talks listed below.
