Capturing Adean Cats in Argentina
October 21, 12:00 p.m.; Osher Great Hall of the Lurie Education Center
Juan Repucci will talk about his work in Argentina to help capture and radio collar Andean Cats in remote high altitude desert. The Andean cat (Leopardus jacobita) is the most endangered cat species in the Americas. In the last 25 years, there have been fewer than 10 documented sightings and there is little information on the ecology and conservation requirements of the species. The Andean Cat Alliance is a network for the survival of the species and its habitats through research, conservation, community partnership and protected areas support.
Lecture is free. Recommended for ages 12 and above. For more information, call 415-753-7073.
