What We OfferOur elegant suites and stylish meeting rooms are set amongst 100 acres of zoological gardens, home to 260 different species of animals; an inspiring setting to nurture an unforgettable event. Our versatile venue spaces can be set up in a number of styles, ideal for meetings, conferences, presentations, product launches, dinner dances, summer picnics, staff retreats and holiday parties. To support your organization's Corporate Responsibility Policy, we use sustainable and fair trade produce, locally sourced wherever possible. In addition, all Zoo profits from your event will go towards our conservation projects, helping critically endangered animals and their habitats around the world. Spaces For HireWith the needs and preferences of our corporate clients in mind, we recommend the below venue spaces for private hire. These spaces can be booked alone or in conjunction with each other. After looking through, you may wish to check out our delicious menus and list of live Animal Encounters, where your valued guests can get up close and personal to our exotic residents. Suites: Bernard Osher Great HallAvailable throughout the day and night, this rustic suite boasts high beam ceilings, smooth slate floors, a cozy open fireplace and a private foyer ideal for guest registration. The Hall also comes with front and rear courtyards which act as perfect locations for a cocktail hour or Summer barbeque. Also conveniently located nearby are a choice of three meeting rooms which we offer at discounted rates should you require a changing facility or break out space.
This octagonal shaped building is centrally located within the Zoo and oozes contemporary style with it’s floor to ceiling windows and concave dome shaped roof. An outdoor patio with views of flamingos is included for guests to break out onto and a separate break out space, The Lemur Room, is also available to book at a discounted rate. This hospitality is available for guests only after 6pm.
Located a stone's throw from the Zoo's private Playfield Lawn is the Event Marquee Tent. This permanent 'structure tent' with a heavy duty frame is a blank canvas with which to work from. The tent comes with basic lighting, a roof canopy and removable white side walls. To make organization simpler, we offer three different levels of theming that incorporate flooring, lighting, and other luxury options. The tent is ideal for large corporate events, exhibitions, weddings or as a wet weather contingency for barbeque picnics in the summer.

Meeting Rooms: Education ClassroomSan Francisco's main reception acts as a corporate business centre offering air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and modern audio visual equipment for hire. Here you can find two Education Rooms, each very versatile for set up and each with furniture and whiteboard included.
The Lemur Room is located in the heart of the Zoo and from a private view point, guests can be inspired as they watch nearby chimpanzees play in their homely habitat. This space is very versatile, making it ideal for meetings, children's birthdays, as a base for staff retreats or as a breakout room for larger events held in The Lemur Lounge.

Cocktail Parties: African SavannaThe African Savanna, one of our most elaborate developments, features giraffe, zebra, kudu and ostrich roaming together in a three acre habitat that surrounds a decked event space. Whether rings are being exchanged or delegates are there to network, no space in the Bay area can match it’s unique atmosphere as a hospitality space.
Our three giraffes, Kristin, Bititi and Floyd, offer their unique home to host a pre-dinner cocktail hour or even dinner itself! Guests will be captivated by their beautiful big eyes and long eyelashes, so be sure to book a Giraffe Feeding so that you’re not too overcome with guilt as you enjoy our own delicious menu offerings.
The interior of our historic 1940’s Lion House doubles as a function room after the Zoo closes it’s gates for the evening. This hidden gem comfortably accommodates larger capacities whilst offering a unique behind-the-scenes perspective of where our big cats eat and reside. Listen to echoing roars as you enjoy sparkling wine and hor d’oeuvres or a buffet dinner on the wild side!
The residents of this exotic oasis are frogs, turtles, macaws and a 15ft green anaconda to name but a few! Both food and drink can be enjoyed here as tropical bird species hop from branch to branch, singing happily. This indoor space is ideal for any occasion, but especially good for socializing as guests ‘break the ice’ over interesting and unusual exhibits.
The Dentzel Carousel is believed to have been created in c.1921 which actually pre-dates the Zoo itself! After a full restoration in 2002, we are proud to offer this iconic piece of San Francisco history as a venue space in which to host a private drinks reception. Availability is from 5.30pm onwards with background carnival music and an operator included in the rental fee.

Summer Picnics: Playfield Lawn & TerraceThe Playfield is a beautifully maintained private lawn surrounded by lush green trees and seasonal foliage. The Fleishhacker Playground sits only a stone's throw away making this the ideal spot for family orientated events. The lawn is also large enough to host team building activities and in wet weather conditions, the Event Tent Marquee is available to save the day! The Playfield Lawn conveniently adjoins the Mother's Building, which lends it's beautiful Italian Renaissance stone terrace for a cocktail hours and receptions.
