 | Getting Here  Welcome to the San Francisco Zoo, Northern California's largest zoological park and conservation center. This urban oasis, nestled against the Pacific Ocean, features beautiful gardens and 250 different animal species in naturalistic habitats. The San Francisco Zoo is located on Sloat Boulevard at the Great Highway, next to the Pacific Ocean. The San Francisco Zoo encourages you to use public transportation when visiting us. Within San Francisco, take the Muni L Taraval line outbound to the Zoo. Muni bus lines 23 and 18 also stop at the Zoo. Use the 511 TakeTransit Trip Planner for door-to-door directions by entering your starting address and "SF Zoo" for your destination address along with "San Francisco" for your destination city. Guests who take Muni to the Zoo will receive $1.00 off the price of admission. Just show your Muni receipt which includes transfers (must be same day dated) and monthly passes. Driving From the East Bay - Take the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.
- After crossing the Bay Bridge, take 101 South.
- Follow 101 South to the 280 interchange.
- Take 280 South to the Westlake District – John Daly Boulevard exit.
- Make a right onto John Daly Boulevard and continue to Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35). Turn right onto Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35).
- At the Skyline/Great Highway junction, turn left onto the Great Highway.
- Get into the right lane and take the right turn into the Zoo Entrance on the Great Highway.
Driving From the North Bay - Take the Golden Gate Bridge.
- After passing through the toll plaza, merge into farthest right lane to take 19th Avenue – Golden Gate Park exit.
- This puts you on Park Presidio Boulevard. Get into the right lane and turn right on Fulton Avenue.
- Take Fulton Avenue down to the ocean and turn left onto the Great Highway.
- Continue south on the Great Highway. Turn left onto Sloat Boulevard.
- Get in the right hand lane immediately and turn right into the Zoo Entrance on Sloat Blvd. at 47th Avenue.
Driving From the South Bay - Take 280 North to the Westlake District exit in Daly City. Continue going north (Junipera Serra Boulevard) to John Daly Boulevard.
- Turn left at John Daly Boulevard and continue to Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35).
- Turn right onto Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35).
- At the Skyline/Great Highway junction, turn left onto the Great Highway.
- Get into the right lane and take the right turn into the Zoo Entrance on Sloat Blvd. at 47th Avenue.
Parking The Zoo's parking lot has two entrances, one off of the Great Highway for people driving from the East Bay and South Bay, and one off of Sloat Boulevard at 47th Avenue for those driving from the North Bay. There is only one exit from the parking lot - putting everyone northbound on the Great Highway. Parking Fees: $8. Exit tickets may be purchased at the Ticket counter at the main entrance prior to leaving the parking lot. - Sloat Boulevard Entrance: On Sloat Boulevard at 47th Avenue, adjacent to Ocean Beach and the Great Highway. Features a drop-off area for pedestrians.
- Great Highway Entrance: Located on the western end of the Zoo, next to Ocean Beach. It can be reached from the Great Highway if you are traveling northbound toward the Zoo. If you are driving westbound on Sloat Boulevard, turn left on Skyline Boulevard, then right on the Great Highway.
- Free street parking is available along Sloat Boulevard.
