And the winning name is... HASANI (meaning "handsome")
Thanks to the participation of 40 countries (6 of 7 continents), 48 states, and ages 5-100, and with the help of the baby's father who picked the winner from 5 finalists via color-coded cantaloupes, our naming contest was a huge success with more than 5,300 entries! Keeper Notes 7/2/09: Hasani is now fully integrated with our entire gorilla troop and will be on exhibit all day, everyday, with his family! We are still considering this to be introduction time as they all figure out their new routine with their newest member of the family, but he's now in with everyone and doing great!
