Summer hours:
Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission into Zoo ends at 4:00 p.m. Members may enter until 4:30 p.m.
Children ages 14 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult while on Zoo grounds.

Free Days for San Francisco Residents

Periodically the San Francisco Zoo offers free admission to San Francisco residents. Please check the event calendar for confirmation of free days: The next free day is June 5. Proof of San Francisco residency is required and can be established by providing the following:

A valid driver’s license
A valid identification card
A utility, phone or other local bill that has your name and address, along with a current, valid photo I.D.

Military

Military personnel receive San Francisco Resident Rates (free admission on SF Resident Free Days only applies to San Francisco residents with proof of residency).

Transport Rentals

Wagons, Jeep strollers and wheelchairs are available for daily rental at the Entry Village on a first come, first served basis.

San Francisco School Groups

SF Unified school district, public, private, colleges, universities and DCYF (C.A.P.) funded organizations. (List provided by the Education Department)

Admission: Free for children and chaperones within the 1:5 ratio. $12 for chaperones above the 1:5 ratio.

To qualify for a group rate:

You must have 15 people or more in your group
You must have a minimum ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children/students (through 12th grade)
You must make an online reservation a minimum of 3 weeks in advance of your visit date

Non-San Francisco Public School Groups
