After two months of learning how to eat whole fish, swim, and socialize with staff, our six penguin chicks are graduating Fish School and returning to their home on Penguin Island! Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, our traditional March of the Penguins event will not be open to the public but we still need your help naming one of our chicks.

Naming entries are available for one male chick for a minimum $5 donation. Once you have submitted your donation, please allow up to 24 hours for the name submission link to be emailed to you. Entries will be accepted until Thursday, August 6th at midnight. We will select a winning name that will be announced on Saturday, August 8 via San Francisco Zoo's Facebook page.

To commemorate the 2020 graduates, we created collectible cards featuring fun facts about each of the six chicks. Click on the image below to download your cards!  Collect all six!

We will miss celebrating with you all in person and thank you for your continued support!

*Due to the pandemic, our traditional March of the Penguins event will not be open to the public. We apologize for this change, as it is one of our most popular events and can get very crowded. In order for us to maintain safe social distancing and to help keep the chicks on course, we are allowing some of our Guardian members to participate. We appreciate your understanding and hope to present our event in full in the future.
