In honor of Endangered Species Day on May 19th, we are hosting a sneak peek of our Summer Wildlife Weekend in Wildlife Theater program the weekend of May 20 & 21! As you stroll around the Zoo, you’ll find signs that convey the conservation status of various endangered species. This is important as we followed the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, which is a critical indicator of the health of the world’s biodiversity. Of our animal residents, 14 species are listed as critically endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List, while 17 of our species here are endangered, and 20 species listed as vulnerable.
Wildlife Theater Schedule:
11 – 11:30 a.m. – Enjoy Storytime as our docents read animal stories from favorite books
11:30 a.m. to 12 noon – Animal biofacts
12:30 to 1:30 p.m. – Animal Meet & Greet
