SF Zoo Offering Free Admission to Students During SFUSD Teacher’s Strike

Free Admission for Students 17 and Under Until Strike Ends

San Francisco Zoo & Gardens has joined other San Francisco cultural institutions in offering free admission to students during the San Francisco Unified School District teacher’s strike that started earlier this week. Minors ages 17 and under will receive free admission to the Zoo during weekdays until further notice. Students ages 14 and under will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

“We recognized early on that having schools closed throughout the City would impact families, and we could provide yet another resource for families to take their kids to during this time,” said Cassandra Costello, Interim co-Chief Executive Officer. “In addition, this offer is not only for San Francisco residents, but for all student visitors.”

The free admission offer during weekdays starts on Friday, February 13. The offer does not include the President’s Day holiday on Monday, February 16. To visit, guests will be required to visit the ticket window located at the front of the Zoo, as there will not be website sales for this program.

SF Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
