Hours

We're open 365 days a year. Come see over 1,000 exotic, endangered, and rescued animals and majestic, peaceful gardens full of native and foreign plants.

 

Hours 

Open daily, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm through spring and summer. Admission into Zoo ends at 4:00 pm. Members may enter until 4:30 pm. 

Children ages 14 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult while on Zoo grounds.

Free Days for San Francisco Residents

Through a partnership with the City and County of San Francisco, the San Francisco Zoo is pleased to offer Free Days for San Francisco residents on certain days. On Free Days, all San Francisco residents are eligible for free admission to the Zoo and must provide valid ID at the front gate as proof of residency. The next SF Resident Free Days are August 19 and September 2, 2015.

Proof of San Francisco residency is required and can be established by providing the following:

Military Discount

Retired and active military personnel receive San Francisco resident rates (free admission on SF Resident Free Days only applies to San Francisco residents with proof of residency).

Docent Tours

Our docent guides lead educational walking tours for school groups of 15 or more (subject to availability). Tours are available during the months of September through March (subject to change) and tour topics correlate with current California Science Content Standards (SCS).
