San Francisco Zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Visitors may purchase tickets online or at the ticket window located at the main gate.

Hours
Gates open at 10:00am. The Zoo closes at 5:00pm, last entry is at 4:00pm for general admission and 4:30pm for members. Thank you for your continued support.
Groups and Field Trips
- Reservation requests must be made 3 weeks in advance of the visit date by emailing Guest Services at [email protected]
- An email will be sent to you requesting additional information
- Minimum is 15 people to qualify as a group
- Must have 1 adult for every 5 children
- Accepted forms of payments are cash, credit/debit cards only
- No checks or purchase orders
- Payment is accepted on the day of the visit only
- Groups without reservations will be charged the regular admission rates

Affordable Access Programs
Please check with your local health and human services agency to see if you qualify for the program below.
- SNAP EBT/WIC Benefit: As part of the Museums for All cooperative, the SF Zoo offers $3 Admission tickets to SNAP EBT and WIC cardholders every day of the year. Please present the following at the ticket windows to purchase your tickets:
- A valid driver’s license or identification card
- A valid SNAP EBT card or WIC card
- Cardholder must be present for purchase
- Not accepted: P-EBT cards, SUN BUCKS and Medi-Cal
Museums for All tickets are not available online and must be purchased in person at the ticket windows. Limit 4 per group per visit. Not valid for special events, cannot be combined with any other offer, and tickets only valid the day of purchase.
Reduced Admission for San Francisco Residents
Through a partnership with the City and County of San Francisco, the San Francisco Zoo is pleased to offer reduced daily admission tickets.
Proof of San Francisco residency is required and can be established by providing one of the following:
- A valid driver’s license
- A valid identification card
- A utility, phone, or other local bill with your name and address, along with a current, valid photo I.D.
- Free days for SF Residents
Guests with Disabilities
Guests with disabilities receive San Francisco resident rates.
Military Discount
Retired and active military personnel receive San Francisco resident rates.
Take Muni and Get a Discount
We encourage you to use public transportation when visiting us. Visitors who take Muni to the Zoo receive a $1 discount off the price of admission. Just show your same-day Muni receipt, transfer, or monthly pass at the ticket window. Within San Francisco, take the Muni L Taraval line outbound to the Zoo. Muni bus lines 23 and 18 also stop at the Zoo. Use the SFMTA Trip Planner sfmta.com/drive-park for directions.
