Adopt-an-Animal Program

Each one of the animals living at the San Francisco Zoo has specific needs. Help us make those special purchases by adopting a Magellanic penguin, a Chilean flamingo, a Ring-tailed lemur or an Emperor tamain. Your love for these animals can be expressed with a donation at any level. Your gift will be used to support the San Francisco Zoological Society and further our mission to connect people to wildlife, inspire caring for nature and advance conservation action. An adoption of one of our animals can make a great gift for friends, family or for yourself.

Spend a Saturday helping beautify the Zoo by volunteering for Renew the Zoo. Visit our native gardens - at the east end of the Lion house and in the Fisher Family Children's Zoo in front of the Meerkat and Prairie Dog exhibit - for ideas for your own garden. Then, ask an expert at your local garden center about the kinds of native plants you can grow. Remember, native plants mean less work for you.
