Adopt-a-Red Panda
Red pandas are native to the eastern Himalayas and China, but did you know the North American raccoon is its distant cousin?
The Adopt An Animal program is currently on hiatus as we refresh the program with new animal opportunities. The program will resume in early March.
Adopt-an-Animal: Red Panda
Red pandas are found in montane forests in parts of China, Nepal, Myanmar and India. They feed mainly on young leaves and shoots of bamboo, but will also eat roots, fruits, eggs or small reptiles when available. They are currently listed as “vulnerable” due to habitat loss. Come and visit our three red pandas in their home built by Animal Planet’s “Treehouse Masters” in the Fisher Family Children’s Zoo.
Your Adopt-an-Animal donation will be used to support these climbing creatures and further the San Francisco Zoological Society’s mission to connect people to wildlife, inspire caring for nature and advance conservation action. An adoption of a red panda makes a great gift for friends, coworkers, family or yourself!
All sales are final.
